MRHC to Provide Free Educational Seminar Regarding Information and Prevention of the Flu
Magnolia Regional Health Center announced today that an educational seminar regarding information and prevention of both the season flu and the H1N1 flu will be held on Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at 6:00 p.m. The seminar, which will be free and open to the public, will take place in the MRHC Conference Center. An interactive question and answer session will immediately follow the content presentation.
The seminar will be presented by Amy Gray, R.N., BSN, MRHC Office of Infection Control. The topics/questions to be presented include the following:
Prevention and Treatment
What is the best way to keep from spreading the virus through coughing or sneezing?
If I have a family member at home who is sick with novel H1N1 flu, should I go to work?
What is the best technique for washing my hands to avoid getting the flu?
Children, emergency warning signs that need urgent medical attention
Adults, emergency warning signs that need urgent medical attention
How long can influenza virus remain viable on objects (such as books and doorknobs)?
