Health Information Management
The HIM Department is the main source for your medical records and protected health information. Services provided in our area are release of information, completion of birth and death records and coding of records for submission to insurance companies for billing purposes.
The Health Information Management Department of the hospital is located on the first floor of the hospital around the corner from the Surgery Waiting Lounge. The department is open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday and from 7:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The department is staffed additional hours for in-house and physician assistance. Personnel are on call on weekends and for emergency situations.
Specific forms are necessary for any release of information as required by MRHC policy and federal HIPPA regulations. Patients will be required to present personal identification for release of such information. A charge for the cost of copying and sending the records may also be applicable.
