Position Title: OR TECH

Position Description: To provide assistance to the surgeons during surgical cases. The level I ORT functions under the direct supervision of the ORT preceptor. Assists the surgeon in the sterile field by providing appropriate and adequate sterile instruments and other supplies during the operative procedure. Maintains the surgical field through sterile practices. Works under the supervision of the Registered Nurse as a member of the perioperative team. Assists in the care and preparation of the surgical patient for surgery. Responsible for the assembly of the case and it’s components. Works cooperatively with ancillary departments and other team members.

    Qualifications:
    Education:OR Tech schooling or prior experience is required
    Experience:Surgery experience preferred
    Physical Requirements:Hand eye coordination dexterity skills; Vision, Hearing, repetitive motion Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the position without compromising patient care; While performing these duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to the risk of electrical shock, radiation and chemicals. The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and vibration. The noise level is usually moderate. Able to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time; talk; use hands and fingers to feel and touch; push; pull; crawl; crouch or crawl; stoop; kneel; reach with hands and arms, taste or smell. This job has vision requirements, close; distance and color. Must be able to identify and distinguish colors, have peripheral vision and the ability to judge depth perception.
    License Required:ORT Certification encouraged.
