Position Title: SICU-Unit Manger

Department:SICU
Position Description: To oversee and direct quality patient care in designated nursing unit as well as administer direct patient care. Consults with staff, physicians and Nursing Administration on nursing problems and interpretation of hospital policies to ensure patient needs are met. Maintains performance improvement activities within the department and participates in committee activities. Assists in formulating budget. Accountable for professional growth within department.

    Qualifications:
    Education:Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing. BSN strongly recommended, or completed within 3 years of taking position.
    Experience:Minimum of 3 years, with 1 year being in a supervisory capacity.
    Special Skills:Position requires extensive training prior to releasing to care for heart patients.
    Physical Requirements:Able to sit, stand; talk, hear alarms; use hands and fingers to feel and touch; push; pull; crouch or crawl; stoop; kneel; reach with hands and arms, taste or smell. This job has vision requirements, close; distance and color. Must be able to identify and distinguish colors, have peripheral vision and the ability to judge depth perception.
    License Required:Must have a current RN license issued by the Mississippi State Board of Nursing or have a multi-state license.
