Visitation Policy Update – August 6, 2021
Effective August 6, 2021 – Everyone at Magnolia Regional Health Center (MRHC) is committed to keeping our patients, visitors, and staff safe at all times. Support by loved ones plays a vital role in the healing and recovery process, and we understand the importance of patients having access to their loved ones while receiving care at our hospital and clinics. Restricting visitation during the COVID-19 pandemic has been one of the most difficult decisions we’ve had to make, but our team continues to work diligently to follow guidelines provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention as we navigate the policies and best interests of our patients, visitors and staff.
To continue prioritizing the safety of our patients, visitors, and staff, MRHC has implemented a revised visitation policy that allows for adjustments based on the number of COVID-19 cases in the community, according to state and county public health data.
The below policies are in place for everyone, including those who have gotten a COVID-19 vaccine.
At this time, 2 dedicated visitors will be allowed per patient for the duration of the visit. Visitors are to be selected and identified by the patient at the beginning of the hospital stay. Only 1 of the 2 dedicated visitors will be allowed with the patient at a time (Exceptions only for pediatric and labor/delivery patients). A “change out” period will happen twice per day. During this “change out” period, the 2 dedicated visitors can determine who will remain with the patient. The change out period will not be in place for pediatric and labor/delivery patients, as the 2 designated visitors selected can come and go as needed. The change out times are listed below:
6 am – 8 am
6 pm – 8 pm
Children under the age of 18 are not permitted at this time.
Inpatients: Two designated visitors are allowed for duration of the visit. Only one visitor is allowed with the patient at a time. Exceptions will only be made for end-of-life circumstances.
Critical Care Unit (CCU): Two designated visitors are allowed for duration of the visit. Only one visitor allowed with the patient at a time. Must adhere to critical care guidelines for visitation. Exceptions will only be made for end-of-life circumstances
Pediatric Patients: Two designated visitors are allowed for duration of the visit. Visitors will be allowed to come and go as needed, as long as it does not become excessive.
Labor and Delivery: Two designated visitors are allowed for duration of the visit. Visitors will be allowed to come and go as needed, as long as it does not become excessive.
COVID-19 Suspected/Confirmed Patients: No visitors allowed. Exceptions will only be made for end-of-life circumstances.
Outpatient Surgical Patients: Only one visitor allowed with patient.
Emergency Department (ED) Patients: Only one visitor allowed with patient.
MRHC Clinics: Only one visitor allowed with patient.
AT ALL LOCATIONS
Before entering MRHC facilities, all visitors must:
- Bring their own mask and wear it over the mouth and nose at all times.
- Not have any symptoms of COVID-19.
- Cough
- Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
- Chills
- Muscle pain
- Sore throat
- New loss of taste or smell
- Have a temperature less than 100 degrees F
- Be screened daily for COVID-19 symptoms and exposure

Hospital and Clinic Visitor Policy (Effective May 24, 2021)
The safety of patients, visitors and staff continues to be our top priority. Since the COVID-19 pandemic began, our team has worked diligently to ensure we protect everyone who enters our facilities and implement precautionary measures, as suggested by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Mississippi State Department of Health (MSDH). We continue to feel that this will make a significant impact and assist our team in continuing to provide quality care and maintain a safe environment.
By limiting the amount of visitors, and controlling the quantity of visits in and out of our facility, we are better able to provide a safe environment for all of our patients, visitors and healthcare team members.

Cafeteria hours will be as follows:
Breakfast 6:30 – 8:00 am
Lunch 11:00 – 2:00 pm
Dinner 6:30 pm – 9 :00 pm
4:00 pm – 10:30 pm – Grill
Café Hours: 6:30 am to 10:30 pm, Monday through Friday. Weekends: 6:30 am to 8:00 pm.

Magnolia Regional Health Center continues to follow and revise our policies to reflect recommendations of the Mississippi State Department of Health, the CDC and the U.S. FDA.
COVID Vaccination Update – May 20, 2021
To schedule your vaccination appointment, please call the Magnolia Express Care Clinic COVID appointment request number at (662) 293-1144 or visit www.mrhc.org/myvaccine to submit your request. Please use only these contact methods when working to schedule a COVID vaccination appointment, as all former numbers used for scheduling are no longer being used.
All individuals age 12 and up are now eligible for a vaccination. Children under the age of 18 must have an adult accompany them during the appointment time.
COVID Vaccination Update – March 18, 2021
Governor Tate Reeves has announced that all Mississippians, effective Tuesday, March 16, are now eligible for a COVID vaccination. While there is no age exception in the announcement, it is important to remember the age requirements for vaccinations are as follows:
Pfizer – Authorized for Ages 16 and Up
Moderna – Authorized for Ages 18 and Up
Johnson & Johnson – Authorized for Ages 18 and Up

COVID Vaccination Update – March 8, 2021
We thank you for your continued interest in vaccination appointments and patience as our team works through the process to get as many vaccinations administered as we can in an efficient and timely manner. As we continue to closely monitor and follow guidelines provided by the Mississippi State Department of Health, the eligibility requirements to receive the COVID-19 vaccination have recently expanded.
The modified eligibility criteria now includes all persons 50 years of age and older, regardless of pre-existing medical conditions. For an appointment, please call (662) 293-1301 and leave your name and number. This is still the only method to request a vaccination appointment. As a reminder, we do ask that you refrain from calling the number multiple times, as this impacts our ability to call interested participants back to schedule appointments in a timely manner.

COVID Vaccination Update – February 2, 2021
We thank you for your continued interest in vaccination appointments and patience as our team works through the process to get as many vaccinations administered as we can in an efficient and timely manner.
Over the weekend, MRHC received an additional 300 first dose vaccinations to administer to registered recipients this week. In an effort to do so in an efficient and timely manner, MRHC will be hosting a COVID vaccination clinic tomorrow, Wednesday, February 3rd, for the 300 individuals we have called from our 2,100+ person vaccination waiting list. ***This clinic is only for individuals who received a call notifying them of an appointment time tomorrow.*** Please do not think that we do not have you on the list for future vaccination appointments if you did not receive a call back for this round of vaccinations. We continue to call individuals back in the order that we receive their call. We are hopeful that we will receive notification for additional first round doses next week. We will continue to keep you informed as we know more.
We administered many second dose vaccinations for employees today and will be administering over 300 second doses to community members on Friday of this week. Please keep in mind that second dose vaccinations must be used as second doses to adhere to the guidelines provided to us regarding the Moderna vaccination and recommended timeline to receive the second dose.

COVID Vaccination Update – January 28, 2021
We thank you for your continued interest in vaccination appointments and patience as our team works through the process to get as many vaccinations administered as we can in an efficient and timely manner.
At this time, MRHC has no available vaccinations designated for first round doses. As of now, there will not be a vaccination clinic held next week for individuals wanting to receive the first dose. We currently have over 2,100 individuals on the call back list to receive the first dose. Once we receive additional vaccinations from the Mississippi State Department of Health, we will begin calling the 2,100 contacts in the order they called and left their information. As yesterday concluded, MRHC had administered over 3,100 vaccinations to our staff and community members.
We will be administering second round vaccinations next week in accordance with the guidelines and regulations provided to us regarding the Moderna vaccination timeline. We are excited to complete the vaccination process for so many of our staff and community members.

COVID Vaccination Update – January 16, 2021
Thank you for your extremely positive response to our COVID vaccination process. Our frontline healthcare workers greatly appreciate your interest and desire to help us end this pandemic.
At this time, we do not have any available vaccinations remaining. We are hopeful that we will receive additional vaccinations within 2-3 weeks. Our supply of vaccinations is controlled by the Mississippi State Department of Health, therefore we do not possess the ability to know for certain when our next supply will reach us.
As we continue to track the status of the next round of vaccinations, it is critical that you call (662) 293-1301 to schedule your vaccination appointment. If you have already called and left your callback information with our voicemail system, you are officially in line to receive a call when we know the timeline of the next shipment of vaccinations. Once we receive a notification for the shipment of vaccines, we will return calls in the order that they were received. In an effort to help us expedite the process and return calls in a timely manner, please do not call the COVID appointment request number multiple times. Calling multiple times only delays our ability to quickly return phone calls and schedule appointments. Please be sure to call from a number in which you can receive calls throughout the day. We’ve had a number of calls from work phone lines that were not able to receive calls from our COVID vaccination team to schedule an appointment.
Our team recognizes the importance of conducting the vaccination process in an efficient and timely manner and is working diligently to ensure we administer the vaccinations as quickly as possible to help protect our community. We have staffed the vaccination clinic appropriately in accordance with the quantity of doses that we have received thus far. Please be assured that we schedule vaccines as quickly as we receive notification of vaccination shipments. We sincerely appreciate your continued understanding and patience.
COVID Vaccination Update – January 15, 2021
This week has been another highly successful vaccination week, as our team has administered over 800 more doses to 75+ age members of our community. None of this is possible without the help of the many selfless and skilled team members of MRHC and volunteers who have dedicated themselves to ensuring our community is vaccinated and protected. We thank all who have signed up and showed up to receive their round one vaccinations.
As of this afternoon, MRHC has no vaccinations remaining at this time. Our team has administered 2,126 vaccinations in total and is currently waiting to hear from the Mississippi State Department of Health on the timeline for receiving the next round of vaccinations. We will continue to keep you informed as we know more. When the vaccinations do arrive, 65+ age individuals will now be eligible for the vaccination and an appointment. COVID Vaccination Update – January 13, 2021
As we continue to follow the vaccination guidelines provided by the Mississippi State Department of Health, our team is working diligently to continue to vaccinate community members according to these plans. We are aware of the newly released statements made by Governor Tate Reeves and continue to work to build a vaccination plan accordingly. At this time, we have not received any additional vaccinations from the state of Mississippi to begin additional vaccination phases. We will continue to keep you informed of these plans as we know more. To call MRHC to request an appointment time, please call 662-293-1301 and leave a voicemail with your contact information. If you do not call this number, our team will not have you on the list to call back. COVID Vaccination Update – January 10, 2021
At this time, all available COVID vaccines for 75+ age individuals have been assigned via appointments through this week. If you have called MRHC to schedule an appointment, and have not heard back from a member of our team, we will contact you in the order your voicemail was received as we know more regarding additional doses. We are closely following the guidelines provided by the Mississippi State Department of Health and will continue to vaccinate based on the parameters they have set statewide. We will share additional information as we learn more regarding vaccinating other age brackets as well. We thank you for your continued patience and interest in receiving your vaccine.
COVID Vaccination Update – January 8, 2021
As our team continues to follow the organizational vaccination administration plan, in accordance with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Mississippi State Department of Health (MSDH), we will begin administering vaccinations for individuals in the 75+ age population category next week.
At this time, MRHC has a quantity of 350 remaining doses from our hospital and healthcare allocation and will be receiving an additional quantity of 500 doses early next week, roughly totaling 850 doses available for distribution.
MRHC staff will begin administering the vaccinations on Wednesday, January 13th, at 7 am, at Magnolia Regional Community Care Clinic (202 Alcorn Dr., Corinth, MS 38834). An appointment is required to receive the vaccination. During your appointment time to receive the first dose of the vaccination, you will be provided the date for your second dose.
