Program Goals and Objectives
- Identify JNC8 Vs Sprint Trial and ACC Guidelines
- Diagnose and manage COPD
- Determine which evidence-based tests should be ordered based on clinical findings in syncope
- Choose appropriate management of infectious diseases
- Understand management of the new diabetic agents, insulin pumps, and direct oral anticoagulants (DOACs) in the perioperative period.
- Review the national opioid epidemic and its impact on communities and the health care system
- Identify new medications recommended in heart failure guidelines
Continuing Education Credits
This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and Policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education through the joint sponsorship of the Mississippi State Medical Association, Mississippi Osteopathic Medical Association, and the Magnolia Department of Graduate Medical Education. MSMA is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians. MSMA designates this live event for a maximum of 19 AMA PRA Category 1-A Credit(s)™ and Mississippi Osteopathic Medical Association designates 17.75 AOA Category 1-A Credits, and 1.25 AOA Category 2-B Credits. Magnolia Regional Health Center is an Approved Provider of continuing nursing education activities by the Mississippi Nurses Foundation, Inc., an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. 18.75 CEUs will be awarded if all sessions are attended and completion criteria met. Participants should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Location and Lodging
This program will be presented in Conference Rooms A & B at the Pickwick Landing State Park Inn located at 120 Playground Loop, Counce, Tennessee. Registrants are responsible for lodging and meals other than scheduled dinner, breakfast, refreshment breaks and lunch. On behalf of our meeting attendees, room rates of $90 (plus tax) per night have been secured at the Inn. Reservations must be made by Saturday, March 3, 2018 to guarantee this rate. Registering for the Symposium
There is a nominal registration fee of $125.00 for this program. Advanced registration is required no later than noon on March 9th, 2018. After this date, the registration fee will be $150. Registration is free to all MRHC employees.
