Hobson Named New CEO

The board of trustees of Magnolia Regional Health Center is pleased to announce the selection of James (Jim) M. Hobson, MA, FACHE, as the organization’s new Chief Executive Officer.

“We are excited and honored to have Jim join MRHC in the role of CEO,” said Lex Mitchell, MRHC Board Chair. “After a detailed and quality search process, we are confident that Jim possesses the necessary leadership skills, experience and attributes to continue to move our organization in the right direction.”

Hobson, a fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives and senior healthcare executive with nearly 25 years of leadership experience, most recently served as CEO of Greenbrier Valley Medical Center in Ronceverte, W. Va. Prior to his tenure in W. Va., Hobson served as CEO of True North Custom, a leading healthcare marketing strategy company based in Chattanooga, Tenn. Before transitioning into his leadership role at True North Custom, Hobson served as Chief Executive Officer and Market Leader of CHI Memorial Healthcare System, a faith based non-profit, integrated healthcare delivery system with 405 beds based in Chattanooga, Tenn.

Hobson spent a large portion of his career at Phoebe Putney Health System, in Albany, Ga., in a variety of leadership roles including Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Senior Vice President of Hospital Operations, Senior Vice President of Physician Relations and Clinic Operations, and Vice President of Physician Clinic Operations. Hobson’s early career roles include leadership roles at Bristol Regional Medical Center in Bristol, Tenn. and Methodist Hospitals of Memphis, Tenn.

“My family and I are extremely excited to move to Corinth and become a part of the community and team at Magnolia Regional Health Center,” said Hobson. “I am thankful for the opportunity and look forward to working with the board, physicians and employees to continue to provide high-quality healthcare for the patients we serve.”

Hobson holds a master’s degree in economics from University of Memphis in Memphis, Tenn. and a bachelor’s degree in government from Centre College of Kentucky in Danville, Ky.

Hobson and his wife, Kim, have two children, Coleman and David.
